When I first found out that there was a movie being made about Facebook I couldn’t help but laugh. I really couldn’t see myself being interested in it that was of course until I found out who was attached to direct the project David Fincher. Once his name was called out I became immediately interested knowing his amazing record as a film director (Fight Club, Se7en, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). Then the teaser trailer came out which gave me more reason to see it and then finally the full-trailer which down-right gave me chills. Today The Social Network finally came out and I saw it and all I can say is that it is the best movie of the year.
David Fincher really has out-done himself with this film. The movie is expertly-crafted with a great script and beautiful cinematography that of course has his unique-visual touch. He has made Mark Zuckerberg’s (Jesse Eisenberg) journey into creating Facebook an epic masterpiece. I do believe that it is not only his best film but one of the greatest movies ever made. There are some feelings that I felt and still feel that I can not even explain. To add even more to this film was Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ (Nine Inch Nails) brilliant score. For any aspiring filmmaker this movie is an inspiration. Personally my favorite sequence was where Zuckerberg and Eduardo (Andrew Garfield) meet Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake). It is an amazing sequence that has a brilliant combination of great score music, dynamic visuals, and amazing editing.

The cast was incredible Jesse Eisenberg has given the performance of his career. There is so much to his performance as Zuckerberg that there is no reason what so ever that he doesn’t deserve at least an Oscar nomination. Garfield has become one of my favorite actors of this generation he brought so much to his role and Timberlake was great in it as always. Newcomer Armie Hammer who played the Winklevoss twins (yes he played both roles) was amazing. He is a great actor and I can not wait to see what he does next.
This film bottom line is a masterpiece. I hope the Academy recognizes Fincher this year. In reality there are no words that can describe how amazing this movie was so just go to the theater and see it. There will be no disappointment what so ever I can assure you. As much as I loved Inception The Social Network is the best film of the year.
